How To Dress For A Classic Fourth

How To Dress For A Classic Fourth

Before I started my fashion blog, I'd always dreamed of shooting a few Fourth of July looks! I love holidays with a preset color scheme; it's so fun to see how creative people can get when they're limited to just a few shades. Since the Fourth is one of my all-time favorite holidays, I wanted to post some style inspiration a little in advance to show you guys what I'm wearing this year.

Since I love color in my wardrobe, it's always been a little difficult for me to justify spending money on neutrals or staples. Since the Fourth of July calls for such classic pieces, however, it was perfect practice for me to scope out some casual, everyday pieces that frankly go with just about anything.

I've never owned a jean jacket, but lately, I've been investing in nicer, well-made jeans, so I thought this should be no exception. The one I ended up buying was American-made from Free People, which I was really excited about. I bought a casual blue and white striped shirt to go underneath, and I paired it with some bright red shorts. My clutch and belt are from Target, and my bracelet is American-made, as well, by my favorite jewelry company, KJP. I added a neck scarf (as per usual) to add another classic element to my look. It matched the navy laces on my oxfords, too!

I don't have to work this Fourth of July, which is very exciting for me! I'm planning on making Ina Garten's red, white, and blue cake, and having a little pool party get together!
